Bardin Gate AMG
Questions about AMG
Will my two networks be connected?
No. There is no physical connection between them. AMG only relays messages between the two mail servers, in turns.
What changes on my mail servers?
Each is set to hand mail for the other side to AMG. The two servers have fixed and different IP addresses.
Does AMG read or change my mail?
It neither inspects nor changes content; only the standard Received trace header is added.
What if the other side is unreachable?
The message waits in the durable queue and is delivered later. The queue keeps a message for 5 days by default, and that can be changed.
What if a message cannot be delivered?
A standard delivery notice goes back to the sender. No message is dropped silently.
Does it need DNS or the Internet?
No. Not even DNS or MX is looked up; connections always go to a fixed IP address.
