Bita
Questions about Bita
Does installing it need the Internet?
No. The package is made for a closed network, and no part of the system connects to an Internet service to start or to run. All you bring from outside is the package and your domain's TLS certificate.
Where exactly is the data kept?
On the server you installed it on: messages in its local database, files in its local storage and accounts in its local identity service. No copy is made anywhere else.
Do we pay per user?
No. It is installed on the organisation's server, and the number of users does not change the cost; the practical limit is the capacity of the server you choose.
Does it work with our identity system?
Yes. Sign-in is based on OpenID Connect, so any system that offers it can be connected. If you have none, the installation brings a complete identity service of its own.
What happens when someone leaves the organisation?
Closing their account in the identity system is enough. Their active sessions end at once and their devices' message channels close with them.
How is it backed up?
All the data is on your own server, so the organisation's existing backup policy applies to it. The data paths are documented.
