Is Light an ordinary Ethernet switch?
No. It selects a physical path. It does not switch packets, route or bridge.
Can the safe and unsafe networks be connected at the same time?
No. The common port is connected to only one of them at any moment.
What happens after power-up?
It starts on the safe network, every time.
Does it need a driver?
Depending on the computer, the FTDI virtual COM port driver may be needed. A Windows computer with Internet access usually installs it on its own; an offline or restricted one needs it installed by hand.
Does it replace a firewall?
No. A firewall decides which traffic may pass. Light decides which network is connected at all, and the two work well together.
