Bardin Gate ABV
Questions about ABV
Does ABV store my backups?
No. It uses working space only while a transfer runs. Your storage on each side keeps the backups.
Do both sides need the same kind of storage?
No. Each side can use a different technology, as long as the protocol it speaks is supported.
Can ABV be delivered with storage?
Yes. It can work with storage you already have, or be delivered with recovery storage sized for your needs.
Is ABV a data diode?
No. It switches physically between the two sides and, depending on your policy, can copy in one direction or in both. It never creates a permanent route.
Can ransomware cross ABV as network traffic?
No. ABV neither routes nor bridges traffic between the two sides. Only the approved backup data moves, in the controlled copy cycle.
Does it replace my backup software?
No. It works alongside it and adds a physically isolated layer between your repositories.
